The Social Action Committee is always looking for volunteers who would be willing to help us carry out some of our existing initiatives, as well as some new ones we are getting ready to roll out. Can you spend 20 minutes after mass at the sign-up table for our blood drive, make a few phone calls from home or perhaps deliver some collected items to a charity? Any time you have to help would be greatly appreciated as many hands make light work. We welcome all volunteers, including high school or college students looking to earn some community service hours or spruce up a resume or a college application. Please contact Ann Marie via text or phone (914-548-7910) or send an e-mail to AnnMarie.Kaczorowski@pmi.com. Thanks very much for prayerfully considering helping those who need a hand up.

Life Line Screening
Life Line Screening, will once again offer their affordable, non-invasive and painless health screenings at St Augustine's Church on 7/25/2018. Five screenings will be offered that scan for potential health problems related to: blocked arteries which is a leading cause of stroke; abdominal aortic aneurysms which can lead to a ruptured aorta; hardening of the arteries in the legs which is a strong predictor of heart disease; atrial fibrillation or irregular heart beat which is closely tied to stroke risk; and a bone density screening, for men and women, used to assess the risk of osteoporosis. Register for a Wellness Package which includes 4 vascular tests and osteoporosis screening from $149 ($139 with our member discount). All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. Special thanks to all those who came to the Zoeller Center on Sunday, April 22ndto offer the gift of life through a blood donation and all of the volunteers who gave of their time. From your selfless act of kindness, we were able to collect 55 units of blood, creating 145 “doses of medicine” that will go on to touch the lives of many patients and their families!
